Day 31

 (The "town" getting built)
"Digging in the Dirt"
Just using imagination and some creativity...the kids took advantage of a nice weather day to build a "town" in the garden.  They would of stayed out there for hours if they could, but school was still on the burner and had to be done.  Never the less...they had a great time using their time outdoors, building & digging together.

Day 30

(Sunset on the way to Pizza Hut)
The waiter gave all the little kids a little cup with a lid as they usually do and gave the adult regular size cups. But everyone started to laugh when she gave Olivia a large cup with a lid. Maybe she thought Olivia would spill! :)

Day 29

(Teens having fun at practice)

(Abigail at choir practice)
"Sunday"
Sundays for our household always revolves around church.   It's never something we talk about whether we are doing or not....it's just a given that we will be in the Lord's house every Sunday.  Church for us is where we connect with our "other family" and we have fun and enjoy our Sundays making God a priority!

Day 28

"Great Saturday"
This Saturday was a bit different for many reasons.  One we had a chance to just visit with family and enjoy time together, we also went to a dinner for Child Evangelism, (a great challenge to all of us that we need to reach the children), and a fun ending to the day with friends that are like family to us.  Nothing like having many laughs to end your day and enjoy a wonderful Saturday!

Day 27

"100th"
Yet another 100th day of school for us!  Since the girls started one week earlier, the younger 3 celebrated today.  A fun 1/2 day for all us.  We had a special lunch and as you can see got a bit crazy and colored hair!  Something to be excited about....100 days down and 80 more to go!!!!

Day 26

 "Ordinary"
A nice "warmer winter" day to take a walk.   One of the many sights we see is the lake with the geese.  Usually we bring old bread but today was taking a trip to drop off mail.  Dinner was fun as usual....Owen is pretty picky about what he eats but he usually finds bread a butter a good filler.   A little too much butter today!  Oh...and don't forget the homemade chicken noodle soup!  Yum!

Day 25

"Bathing Beauty"
Abigail is growing like a weed so today we got out some of her clothes for spring, summer, etc.   Found a cute bathing suit that Sarah used to wear and it JUST fits her!  It's a 12 month suit and she's only 3 months old.  She'll get lots of use out of that next month at the Great Wolf Lodge!

Day 24

"They'll be days like this"
Today was one of those days, when out of the blue you have to make a unexpected trip to the ER for 6 to 7 stitches. (Just what I wanted to do)  This is going to be one of those days we look back on and get a good chuckle !  Accidents happen and even though at the time it's seems like such a hassle and a bit frustrating, God had it all planned and had a open opportunity to talk to 2 different people about coming to church!

Day 23

"Friends"
Friends come and go and sometimes are just for a season, but today we had the day to spend with "old friends" of ours from Bible College.  They were literally like family while we were in school.  It's so great to just pick up where you left off and just remember the good ol' days and make memories for today.  It's neat to see their kids and ours grow over the years and form their own friendships that will last for years to come!

Day 22

"Baby Dedication"
Today was the day we dedicated Abigail to the Lord.  Well we truly dedicated her to the Lord before she was born but we officially did it in front of witnesses.  She is a blessing from the Lord and we are amazed that God has entrusted us with another precious child.  It was also a very special dedication to have one of our friends in the ministry to be the officiant, Brother John Edwards.  Great day today and we look forward to watching Abigail Anne grow in the Lord.

Day 21

"Mom's dishes"
After five years of dust collecting in the hutch we decided today to clean it. We cleaned it out and then we put mom's new, starting collection called Temptations in it! It's looking nice.........

Day 20

One of the best days in the new year so far. Today, my sister and I are celebrating our 100th day of school (only 80 days and counting till summer break) but the best part of the day was the movie come in the mail!!! (Courageous!)

Day 19

"Dress Up"
There are days in winter when you gotta find some creative things to do.  Two of the girls had fun this afternoon dressing up and doing their hair.  Yes, if you look hard enough you will see a paper, heart, dollie in her hair.  Boy they are very creative today!  Got a good chuckle out of it too!  : )

Day 18

"Caught"
Just when you think all is quite, you come upstairs and find the dog sleeping comfortably all curled up on your clean pillows.   Now we know what he does when we are gone! I wonder what we would pick up if we installed hidden video cameras.    Hmmmmm???

Day 17

I have started to take different pictures and try to think of a good Bible verse that fits with that specific picture. Here is a example of one that I just did today. I am glad Elizabeth found a stone that looked like a heart because it fits perfectly with Psalms 37:4.

Day 16

Huge surprise today! Tim Hawkins is coming to Delaware!!! I would of never guessed that Tim Hawkins would be 20 minutes away from are house. I have the coolest parents ever!

Day 15

"The would of been Winner"
Played a game  yesterday at our ladies fellowship on the longest receipt but sometimes it pays not to clean out your purse.  In this case she would of been the winner but at least she was a good sport.  Remember next time you go to a ladies function....bring as many strange items as you can (in your purse).

Day 14

"Ladies Soup and Salad"
A lot goes into planning and getting together a church function.   Today was one of those days and all the work does pay off in the end.  I had a lot of memories today of growing up and getting to see my former Youth Pastor's Wife when I was a teenager.  Getting to invite her to be the guest speaker was pretty special.  It's amazing to see how God uses things in your life and people in your life & you get to see how it all connects together to where you are today.  Pretty awesome!

Day 13

"another little surprise"
As we were getting ready for the day, we heard little taps at the window.  To our surprise..it was little pieces of hail.  Of course the excitement fill the house and everyone ran outside to catch some in their hands, or mouths!  It didn't last long.  It was here for a short time but we were able to catch a glimpse through our camera.

Day 12

dinner gets a bit messy
a little dinner entertainment

"A day packed full"
Today was pretty busy trying to fit everything in.  Since the weather is going to get pretty cold later this weekend we made time to fit in another walk down town.  We seem to usually see this one particular lady who always feeds the birds at the same time.  She parks her car and goes to the same spot and feeds all her  bird friends.  I think they wait for her to come everyday.
Also...Abigail is 11 weeks old today.  So hard to believe time is going so quickly.  She really enjoyed getting into her new chair and trying it out.  She is really a joy.  And a perfect addition to our family!

Day 11

Owen is practicing his name & letters
Sarah is just having her own fun
Spicing up our Wednesday with some shaving cream.  Every now and again we need something different to do to help school be a bit more "fun".  I think next time we will use pudding or whipped cream so they can eat it as they are playing.  I may be apart of it next time!

Day 10

Before      after     Socks w/ no match

"Boring Day"
This is a usual thing in our house......laundry!  About 3 loads a day...some days more, some days less.   And as always there are mismatched socks.  We are working on getting fewer mismatched ones.  But for now....we'll hunt down the other one.  Ugh!

Monday, January 9, 2012

Day 9

"A few nice things" on a snowy day
Tried a number of times to get a picture of the fireplace, and none of them really turned out.  That is where we warm up after being outside and chilled to the bone. Today's forecast was only suppose to be scattered showers and we ended up with lots of "white feathers from China" as Owen says!  Snow!!

Day 8

Our view going to choir practice.

Day 7

One of Milford, Delaware's water towers downtown.
Many of our familiar sights on our MANY family walks downtown.

Day 6

One of our favorite "cheap" dips

"Things that make lunch a bit better"
We could of had a ton of neat pictures today from our walk but all 3 of us forgot our cameras.  So....our lunch was the most exciting part of the day with a little entertainment from the boys and our favorite cheap dip from Save A Lot.   Hopefully tomorrow will bring something a bit more interesting.

Day 5

Surprise to all of us...we woke up with a little more than a dusting of snow.  I've never seen kids jump out of bed so quickly.  We delayed school a bit so they could go and play in it.  It wasn't here long but they enjoyed it while it lasted.

Day 4

GRACE!!!!
Grace was showed today after an honest mistake of owing the library $13 for materials not renewed. My sister and I got a reminder about God's grace today! And we are truly thankful for the librarian's grace and God's continual grace he shows us everyday!

Day 3

Today's high is ONLY 30 degrees! Thank God we have FREE wood and a wood stove to heat the house........

Monday, January 2, 2012

Day 2

Emma and I made Maryland Crab soup for the 1st time today.  Great meal for a day with the high of only 29 degrees.  Can't wait to try it out tomorrow.  We'll let you know how well it turned out.  Yum!

Welcome 2012!!! Day 1

What a way to start our blog and our year....in church!!!   January 1st is my favorite time of the year. God is the center of all we do!  Our life is about following Him and trying to bring honor to His name.  A new year brings a freshness, a eagerness to see what will happen and just a new begining to grow and try new things.  Every day we will document a different picture or two that captures our day.   As we serve God together, we will enjoy adding our own personality to our photos and our creative style of seeing things through our eyes.   As we document our year together....we hope you enjoy our pictures, our fun, and our style....the Lavallee style of living life in 2012~    Enjoy!!!
